What is the Serpent?
The Serpent is one of the four ornamental plaster ceilings which contribute to this houses importance. It is the design located in
the center hall on the main level (See diagram) There were once 5 ceilings, one was lost during a 1970’s renovation so four remain
one damaged due to a minor roof leek (See photo).
